Wayne Co. Treasurer Dawn Zerrer Loses Cancer Battle

We are heartbroken to learn of the death of Dawn Zerrer, Wayne County Treasurer, who died Saturday, December 29 after a 4-year cancer battle.

Her obituary is below:

Dawn Marie Zerrer, 50, of Wooster passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Dawn had been battling cancer for four years.

She was born February 8, 1968 in Orrville the daughter of Tim and Judy Bohlen Dalessandro.  On September 24, 1994 she married Brian Lee Zerrer.

Dawn was a 1986 graduate of Orrville High School.  She had worked at the Wayne County Treasurer’s Office since 1996 and served as Treasurer from 2011-2018.

Dawn enjoyed time spent with her family, especially the vacations with other families and friends.  She was extremely proud watching her daughters play volleyball and donated her time to the high school program.  Dawn cherished the shopping days with her daughters, and loved to host parties at her home, whether it was a deck party or a Buckeyes game. 

She was President of the Junior Women’s Club, Secretary of the Wooster Booster Club, member of the Wayne County Republican Women, a member of the Executive Committee of the Wayne County Republican Party and a member of the County Treasurer’s Association of Ohio. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wooster.

Surviving is her husband Brian; two daughters Kayla Marie Zerrer and Marisa Lee Zerrer; parents Tim and Judy Dalessandro and her brother Brian Dalessandro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 527 Beall Ave, Wooster, Ohio 44691.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from 5-8 pm. on Friday, January 4, 2019.

McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
