CCAO Webinar June 5: How Counties Can Use Coronavirus Relief Fund Payments

CCAO WEBINAR

 UNDERSTANDING THE FEDERAL CARES ACT:

HOW COUNTIES CAN USE CORONAVIRUS RELIEF FUND PAYMENTS

 FRIDAY, JUNE 5, 2020

1:00 PM

The federal CARES Act established the Coronavirus Relief Fund to provide payments to states and local governments to cover costs related to COVID-19.  The state of Ohio is preparing to distribute $350 million of these funds to counties, municipalities, and townships in Senate Bill 310.  Counties have until December 30, 2020 to spend these resources.  Eligible expenses are defined by U.S. Treasury guidelines and the funds are subject to federal audit.  CCAO will host a webinar on Friday, June 5, at 1:00 pm to provide an overview of how counties can use Coronavirus Relief Funds to cover COVID-19 expenses and to support businesses and individuals who have been affected by economic adversity related to the pandemic.

The presenter will be CCAO Senior Policy Analyst Jon Honeck.  Jon is the lead staff member for the CCAO Taxation and Finance Committee and the Jobs, Economic Development, and Infrastructure Committee.  He is in his third year with CCAO and brings 20 years of experience in state and federal policy issues to his role with the organization.
